Joy comes in the morning

Today started off no different than any other day. Woke the kids up, carried our baby starfish down the stairs as I had our two other little starfishes right next to me and Shilo excitedly waiting at the back door to go potty. As most of you know yesterday was really hard on me. It was a rough day and I didn't want it to carry into today so after breakfast I decided that we would play outside and forget the pain that yesterday brought to all of us.

I got our two oldest ready for riding bikes. Helmet, elbow pads, knee pads and their "biker gloves like Daddy." :) and our baby starfish suited up. I grabbed our quilt and shook it open to lay in the grass in the front yard with them as they played. Shilo plopped down next to me as we listened to the oldies station and watched the babies play. A few moments later our oldest daughter comes running over to me with a handful of "flowers" (dandelion weeds :-) haha) saying "mommy for you!". If my heart could have jumped out of my chest and smiled, it would have. There was no holding back my tears but I did wait until she ran off and I looked up to the sky and said "Thank you God!" Once our son realized what his sister was doing, before I knew it I was getting flowers, weeds and grass :-) in an abundance :)
Yesterday may have brought me more heartache than I knew how to handle but today it brought me remarkable joy. Today I was reminded that joy comes in the morning. A new day brings new challenges, new triumphs and most especially Gods grace for the things I will face today. When we pray His prayer we don't pray for "our yesterday, today and tomorrow bread" but we pray for "our daily bread". What we need TODAY and today the good Lord showed me that He can be the giver of flowers to a mom whose heart needed to know her children do see her :) As the Psalmist says "Joy comes in the morning!"
